My Story
I have a healthy vibrant body, an incredible husband, good finances, and loving friends and family. I live in a beautiful place and I do work that I feel I was born to do. I adore my clients and I rejoice as they transform and thrive.
Things didn’t always feel this good. About eight years ago I went through a very difficult time in my life. There wasn’t one specific trigger; it was as if I’d been slowly sinking over time without even realizing it. I felt fatigued daily and I complained constantly. I would sneak away to take naps on my lunch break, and I found myself crying in the bathroom at work. I remember days when I felt so depressed that I could not get out of bed.
I didn’t know what to do or how to help myself. Thankfully, I met someone who said: “You look like someone who could use some bodywork.” He was right. And he proceeded to throw me a lifeline by introducing me to a healing technique called Zentherapy®—a form of bodywork that focuses on releasing pain and tightness from the body to improve posture and muscle tone.
I was shocked at how good I felt after just one Zentherapy® session, so I immediately opted for a series of 10 sessions and slowly my life started to shift. I began to have more energy and enthusiasm. I started doing things to take better care of myself like getting counseling and coaching. I started keeping a journal. I learned to meditate. I read books. I became a sponge for anything that could teach me how to improve my life and how I felt.
It was incredible to me that, as my body released its tension my mind and emotions became “like buttah” too. Better than butter, though—I started to sparkle again. I became more resilient. I felt younger. I stood taller. I even lost weight! Most importantly, I was no longer sinking. The clouds were beginning to lift.
It wasn’t long before I attended my first training to be certified in both Zenbodytherapy® and ZenTriggerpoint Anatomy®. I began to give and receive this work as much as possible, and I’m continually amazed by the results I experience for myself and for those I work with.
In 2007 I discovered another powerful healing modality called Healing Touch. Healing Touch is a restorative form of energy healing that uses light touch or no touch. Similar to my experience with Zentherapy®, after just one session I was hooked. I began receiving Healing Touch regularly for self-care, nurturing and spiritual growth. People at work would ask me if I’d just gotten a facial. “No,” I’d reply, “It’s Healing Touch.” I loved the sessions so much that I decided to become a practitioner.
I soon became a volunteer with Stanford’s Healing Partner’s program and I quickly discovered how effective Healing Touch is for anyone in crisis, grief or difficult transitions. I now provide Healing Touch as part of the MBS Boot Camp or as a stand-alone series (see Restorative Healing).
Fast forward a few years…after doing Zentherapy® and teaching yoga “on the side” for several years, in Jan 2009 I decided to take the plunge and make wellness my full-time career. Though my practice continues to evolve, I have created two primary programs that focus on supporting women who want to transform their lives.
The first program is called Mind Body Spirit Boot Camp.
This program is for women seeking powerful transformation. It is like coaching on steroids. Why? Because it has the structure of weekly coaching (for the mind) paired with Zentherapy® for the body and Healing Touch for the spirit. This provides a 360 approach to healing and change. We meet weekly for this program over the course of 4 months.
The second program is called Restorative Healing.
Restorative healing is ideal for women experiencing a life or health crisis. It is also perfect for women who neglect themselves and put everything else first. Sound familiar? Restorative Healing is a series of Healing Touch sessions over time. I discovered that it takes an average of 6 sessions for clients to experience profound results so the Restorative Healing program is 6 sessions over your chosen time span.
