How often to you feel worn out, anxious, on edge or sick? Did you know that any of these emotional and physical sensations are your body’s way of telling you something’s up?
How do you typically handle your body’s messages?
Do you:
a) ignore the messenger
by pushing it down with chocolate, chips, caffeine, alcohol or drugs
b) shoot the messenger
and get annoyed or critical of yourself because you’re having a tough time (likely adding to your discomfort)
c) listen to the messenger
and take a few deep breaths, stretch, drink some water, or do something to address what’s happening
If you answered A or B above, remember, there’s nothing you can give if you’re all used up. And giving from feeling yucky doesn’t feel great to the receiver either. So take care of you. The world loves it when you feel good!
Here’s one of my self care secrets:
I recently started putting dried rose petals in my detox baths. Seems extravagant (guess that’s why I never did it before) and makes me feel like a queen.
I’d like for this article to become a list of self care secrets for all who read it. What do you do for yourself that is simple and feeds your soul? or What is one thing that you like to give to others that you’ve decided to give to yourself?
